Streets of Sin

Play at your own pace in this text-based universe as a lowlife criminal from the sinful streets of Spazcity. Since this game is pretty straight forward, you can get right into playing without needing a tutorial beginning!

Though the game has no overall complexities, there are still some mechanics you may need to know in order to make your progression even a little faster.

Game Status

Leaderboards

Streets of Sin has a global leaderboard system that tracks Sinners based upon their total earned Respect (XP), and their current Cash amount. The Cash leaderboard is for those that may have started playing late while there are already active registerd users. This is if you can keep earning cash while the leaders are spending, then you would eventually take the lead for held Cash.

Best of All...

Developers that actually play! The current developer of SoS actually owns the domain and brand behind this project, so any bugs or issues you may experience would likely be experienced by him as well. You don't have to worry about your reports not making it to a support and/or development team!

Soloplayer

Missions

Earn Cash and Respect by doing some missions. When you just start the game, you have limited missions, and you unlock more as you level up your rank. Missions are not currently location based, so no matter where you are in the Sinnerverse, you can access them as long as they are unlocked.

Completing a mission, success or fail, will activate a mission timer and will prevent you from doing missions of this type until the timer runs out.

List

This list has missions organized by their operator. Each mission includes details such as the timer it activates, as well as rewards given for a successful attempt.

Cash (green), ammo (blue), and respect (purple).

<html> <table style=“width:100%;”> <tr> <th>Self-Employment</th> <th style=“width:2px;”>Level</th> </tr> <tr> <td>Panhandle</td> <td style=“width:2px;text-align:center;”>1</td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan=“2” style=“text-align:center;”>(2:46)&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<span style=“color:green;”>$1-$3</span>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<span style=“color:blue;”>0-0</span>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<span style=“color:purple;”>0</span></td> </tr>

<tr> <td>Mug Someone</td> <td style=“width:2px;text-align:center;”>1</td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan=“2” style=“text-align:center;”>(3:15)&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<span style=“color:green;”>$5-$12</span>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<span style=“color:blue;”>0-0</span>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<span style=“color:purple;”>2</span></td> </tr>

<tr> <td>Shoplift</td> <td style=“width:2px;text-align:center;”>1</td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan=“2” style=“text-align:center;”>(2:30)&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<span style=“color:green;”>$0-$0</span>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<span style=“color:blue;”>0-0</span>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<span style=“color:purple;”>5</span></td> </tr> </table> </html>

* The above table only displays the first 3 Self-Employment missions and is not listing the entire feature. This is just a template table, which will be used for the Missions page once the wiki has all the basic onfo.

Stealing

In the earlier Alpha edition, these group of soloplayer missions were referred to as Grand Theft, but it's since then changed because, well, there is now more than just vehicles. You can do Stealing missions which gives you a chance to earn some nice transportation types, which you can decide to repair (if damaged), sell, scrap, or just keep for emergency scrap/cash.

Completing a stealing mission, success or fail, will activate a theft timer and will prevent you from doing missions of this type until the timer runs out.

Speedrun

Another way to make some quick cash is to do some Speedrun missions. Speedruns can earn a large amount of cash, or large amount of time in jail, so be careful when you choose to hit up the streets in one of your stolen transports.

Completing a Speedrun, success or fail, will activate a runner's timer and will prevent you from doing missions of this type until the timer runs out.

Multiplayer

Crews

Though we only currently offer Solo Missions, you can still gang together in a Crew. This is one of the parts of the Sinnerverse you could be creative with. Do your crewmates have beef with other sinners? Do you need a hand with scouting for someone? Your Crew could be a big part of your overall progress, so be sure to trust who you hire/join.

Assassinations

There's a plan to, at some point through the beta, allow sinners the ability to extract the life from another sinners' body. To be able to assassinate someone, you wouls need the help of a scout.

Scouts

Scouts can be sent out to find a specific sinner's location, which you can then be able to assassinate them. There is a $2000 hiring fee per scout.

Bounties

There's a plan to, at some point through the beta, allow bounties to be set on other sinners. This of course would likely come with a placement fee, such as your personal launderer.

Player

Each player has their own specific stats recorded into the database and these stats determine different outcomes for each event. For example, your percent chance may be low on missions at the start of the game, but the more you attempt and pass the missions, the better their chances become. There are a lot of features to mention about player information and will all become available in the future.

Locations

You start off in Spazcity, the capital of the Sinnerverse, but there are many places you can visit. These locations are currently just used for features and player preference, with no story specific settings. There are thoughts to add story-specifics as well, such as Missions or other story events.

Inventory

Each sinner has their own personal inventory. You can use this for gear, transports, ammo, and anything else you can collect as a player.

There is no storage limit for any of your inventory items, so don't hesitate to hold onto things.

Weapons/Armor

Consumables

Ammo

As a sinner of the Streets, you must be prepared. Ammo units are important to have and can be collected by purchasing them at the local SinShop or scrapping transports. Sometimes you may even find some through Missions.

All weapons use the same units, so you don't have to worry about specific mag types.

Transports

Please take note first thing that though we say “transports,” they aren't actually used for that. These vehicles are actually gained through stealing missions and can be sold for cash or scrapped for ammo. There is a strong chance that whenever you get your hands on one of these motorized Earth destroyers, it will be damaged. This is all depending on how your chance turns out, but also note that no transport ever comes fully destroyed though they can come with barely a scratch.

Using the repair option will repair your chosen transport for a cost, but it's overall value may get you your cash back plus more if you decide to sell it.

Scrapsmith

If you're short on ammo, you can discard your unwanted transportations for some ammo units by having the local scrapsmith break them down for you. Scrapsmiths don't care if it's damaged or perfect condition, you'll always get something for the scrap.

Transportations

A list will be available shortly.

Cash

Cash is your main income and the amount you have determines your wealth level. The wealth level is a title based upon an amount of money you have at a minimal; as an example, the first level you begin with is “Broke”, but this changes to a “Poor” once you reach $1,000. There are currently a total of 15 wealth levels, all with their own required cash amount.

Cash is one of the most important assets in the Sinnervere. In order to make sure you're safe and well geared up, you must have Cash.

Launder

Every sinner, from the moment they arrive into the Sinnerverse, has access to a professional launderer who will safely bank your Cash…for a fee. If you wish to go the opposite route and gamble your cash instead, the Sinnerverse is packed with Blackjack casinos, so why not give it a shot if you're feeling lucky?

Blackjack

Bet little or bet big at one of the many Blackjack casinos the Sinnerverse has to offer. With access to a Blackjack dealer in any region, you can always find somewhere to gamble your cash.

Respect

Respect is your XP level and is what you need in order to make even the smallest name for yourself. If you have low Respect in the Sinnerverse, you may end up running into some problems.

Ranks

There are two kinds of rank systems in the Sinnerverse - Cash, and Player. This combination of rank features are what we call your Ranks and Riches, and these are two important assests, with two totally different values.

Cash Rank

The Cash rank (“Richness”) is determined by your held Cash amount and can rank up or down depending on your current amount of overall cash.

Player Rank

The Player rank is determined by Respect and will rank up, but never lower. You gain Respect by doing Missions and various activities across the Sinnerverse.

SinShop

When you have earned enough Cash, you can purchase weapons, armor, and various consumables. Be sure to pack some heat and get supplies as soon as you can, because other Sinners can attack you. Be prepared!

Timers

Some features require the use of timers. These timers are used to stop sinners from grinding to a unfair advantage. Each mission has a cooldown, which stops you from doing other missions while it's active. Different missions have different cooldowns, so some will cause you to wait longer than others.

Features which include timers are Missions, Stealing, Speedrun, and Jail time.

Sinkits

As part of the updated launch to SoSBeta, you will be given the ablility to collect Sinkits (“sin-kits”) when you rank up or through special activities. These can be used to activate Premium Membership for a specific amount of days. Premium members get special perks for Missions, Stealing, and Travel.

Sinkits do not auto-redeem or refresh at all, so you can collect as many as you'd like.

Premium

All perk packages (“Premium”) contains the same perks, but each runs for a specific amount of time, depending on the one you purchase. These packages cost Sinkits, not real currency.

Upon joining the Sinnerverse, you are granted enough Sinkits to purchase a Premuim package right away.
